Authorities have confirmed that Cierra Alexis, the woman critically injured in a shooting at MJ’s Sports Bar & Grill on Northwest Broadway Street, has died from her injuries.
According to the Murfreesboro Police Department, the shooting occurred at approximately 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 13. Officers responded to reports of gunfire at the popular establishment and later located Alexis at a nearby muffler shop suffering from severe gunshot wounds.
Emergency responders transported her to a local hospital, where she remained in extremely critical condition following the shooting. Authorities have since confirmed that she succumbed to her injuries.
Detectives with the Murfreesboro Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting. Officials have not yet disclosed what led to the incident or whether an altercation preceded the gunfire.
