With profound sadness, we acknowledge the passing of Keith Labelle, a long-time adjunct instructor whose contributions to the academic community left a lasting legacy. His death is deeply felt by his family, friends, colleagues, and the many students whose lives were shaped through his teaching, mentorship, and dedication to education.
From the early stages of the program, Keith played an essential role in its development and success. He contributed not only subject matter expertise but also a strong sense of passion, innovation, and belief in student potential. His PRS370 Sports Branding course became widely recognized as one of the most engaging and valued classes, appreciated for its practical approach and his ability to bring real-world insight into the classroom.
Students consistently responded to his energetic teaching style and his talent for bridging academic concepts with industry application. He encouraged learners to think critically, creatively, and confidently, helping them prepare for real professional environments.
Outside of formal instruction, Keith served as a dedicated mentor. Through his URi-STAND program, students gained valuable hands-on experience that extended beyond traditional coursework. He guided student assistants closely, offering encouragement, professional development, and opportunities to build confidence. Many credit him with helping them discover their direction and achieve personal growth.
Keith was also known for his kindness, accessibility, and genuine care for those around him. He worked to build strong relationships within the academic environment and fostered a culture of support, collaboration, and encouragement.
